4 day ago there was another police shooting in San Antonio. One of my close friends is a police officer for APD, so with another shooting so close to home, we are all devastated, and frankly, scared. Officer Marconi was writing a traffic ticket, when the suspect came up and shot him. With the suspect now in custody, he admitted that he had his children taken away from him, so that officer should not be allowed to be around his children either. He has already released an apology to the officers family, yet the apology does not bring him back. He is still not with his family for the holidays.
The news about this shooting is devastating. It is scary that this has become the new normal. Officer shooting have almost become a monthly news story, and frankly, it makes me sick to my stomach. Why cant we just all love each other?
I hate that it has to be "another police shooting". It shouldn't be happening so often that we have to keep saying another one, as if it's so common now, we should expect it. I have family members who are officers and every single time I hear about something like this it makes me so uneasy. It really could be anyone and it's always so senseless. I will never understand why killing someone would be the answer. It is never going to solve anything.
