America putting a price on our bodies...

Anyone else leave class last week pissed off at America and ready to pack their things and leave?  Two things made me sick to my stomach.  One, that people are being denied medical care who desperately need it and two, how blind I have been to all of this.  I am one of those people who have been fortunate enough to be under my mother's insurance. I do not pay for my birth control, my co-pay for a doctor visit is never more than 20 bucks, and any prescription needed is never outrageous.  However, after watching the film I felt angry at myself.  Strange, I know, but goodness the guilt has been eating at me.  This system is just outrageous and statistics clearly showing IT IS NOT BENEFITING AMERICANS HEALTH.  (insert steam blowing out of nose emoji)

  1. I am this I I close to moving to Canada! I was already pretty aware of the ruins our healthcare system is in, and I've been a victim of it my whole life. But that documentary was STILL very eye-opening and I have been recommending it to EVERYONE. I am very pro-socialist and believe modeling ourselves after a country like Canada or those in the UK would mend a lot of our issues. Socialism for the win!!!!!

  2. I have also been fortunate enough to remain on my parents insurance and don't have to struggle the way most americans do. However I do know how hard it is for my parents to afford the insurance and meet a high deductible and have seen many times what crappy insurance can put a family through. The movie opened my eyes up to the issues of our healthcare system even more and it breaks my heart that so many people suffer and get denied. I just turned 24 this past week and I am starting to be very aware and very nervous about life once I can no longer be covered by my parents insurance.
