Hurricane Matthew
I recently saw a video on Facebook from NBC news
about businesses hiking up prices on necessities in Florida as people evacuate
and seek shelter from hurricane Matthew. Hotel prices went up 3x as high in some
places, gas prices have doubled, and even grocery stores are benefitting by
charging a crazy amount for cases of water. This is another example of how big
businesses are screwing people over. These people are vulnerable, stranded and might
lose everything they have but they are being taken advantage of and it is wrong
and very sad. There should be some kind of law about price raises during natural disasters.
