Learning Something New!

It is crazy how much is going on in the world every single day that I don't hear about! Before entering in this class, the most news I heard/ watched was the quick Time Warner Cable news that comes on as soon as I turn on my TV. Even though that was legitimate news, I never watched enough of it to really become educated on what is going on in the world around me. Now that I am "forced" to listen to NPR, and have a subscription to a newspaper, I am starting to pay more attention to what is happening around me. It is crazy how we can focus so much on what a football player is doing during the National Anthem, but we are only hearing bits and pieces on what is happening at Alpine High School! It is crazy to me, how we can focus so much on a football player, yet it is barely surfacing that more emails from Hillary Clinton's email are surfacing.... yet we are so focused on a football player. Now that I am taking this class, I am able to be more educated on what is happening around me. I only wish it didn't take a class to "force" me to pay attention to the news.
