Some Feels After Week 2

I have never been the type of person to ask a lot of questions about things that I felt didn't concern me but this class has made me feel ashamed about that. Starting the "Park Avenue" documentary has opened my eyes to a system that touches just about every facet of my life. Professor Stone wants us to be aware of current events and the actions of our government and while I saw this objective as a part of the class, I didn't see the big picture. Being socially and politically involved and aware shouldn't just be a course requirement. As an adult, we have a duty to be functioning members of the democratic system in this country. Without people willing to stand up and stand out, we will continue to have legislation that favors the priveleged and continue to make the "little" people feel as if their voice doesn't matter and they shouldn't try to change that.
