This week was filled with a lot of valuable knowledge, that I never saw very important until now. After listening to IMPR every morning I have become more aware of what is going on everyone in my society that I live in. Based on some topics that were talked about in class, the one that caught my attention the most was the HEB discussion. I do not believe that they should not build another HEB in San Marcos, especially off wonderworld. Wonderworld is already a very traffic area and if this plan was to go through, they would have to find a new way or a better way for traffic flow. I honestly think they should start limiting housing in SM. San Marcos has come so overly populated, which has caused a lot of problem with traffic and also the river.. I understand that they want to make money, but they also need to stop and think about the locals that live in San Marcos and realize that when school is out that most people go back to their hometowns. We also have a super Walmart and Target that have groceries so why do we need more grocery stores. No one is complaining about having not enough groceries stores but complaining about not having enough parking for business owners on the square!!! They need to start listening to what the people want.

  1. I agree with you! I understand that San Marcos wants to grow to accomadate incoming students but they do need to draw the line somewhere. We are in a pretty well populated area that has a ton of options for student shopping and we really should be trying to build in an area that is well known for large traffic jams.

  2. I have also been listening to the npr when i am in my car. I thought i would find it really boring but its very interesting actually It is so crazy how this class is already making us more aware of what is going on in our world. I did not even know about the heb potentially being built on wonderworld!! I agree and do not think it should be built there because traffic, which is already a joke, would just be terrible if a huge HEB was added. One person mentioned why not just expand the one we already have instead of starting from scratch and i agree with that.
