Poverty

After finishing up the video over poverty last week, and having our discussions in class, I am still amazed at the amount of money some have, and others do not. We are so quick to run to other countries and help out in any way we can, yet, there are people right our side our door that need the same help... yet, we are not willing to give it to them. After our discussion on Thursday (I believe), about the Netflix documentary, Queen of Versailles, I wanted to come home to refresh my memory on the documentary. Although the documentary was released in 2012, and shot over a period of time, it amazes me that there are still people (families) out there that are still living such lavish lifestyles, when there are people (other families) on the other Park Ave. that are struggling just to get by within their day to day lives. I think it is important for Americans to help each other out. To lend a helping hand within our communities, or surrounding communities. Whether that is food donations, or helping with transportation's, or helping the teachers out, so they have more resources within their classrooms.... anything! Instead of staying in the Upper East Side, and having "tunnel vision".
