Where did the system go wrong? If we are learning about
poverty in our classes, and I’m sure other college students around the country
are learning the same thing, so how did we get that information and why are we
learning about it and not doing anything about it. Not we as in “I”
individually because I don’t think that poverty can be solved by one person,
but by as a society.
So when did we just pass the point where we did things and
just learned why things are wrong? When its literally a topic in class, like an
epidemic, and its not embarrassing as a country that we cant at least get this
more under control.
I think in the clip from that movie we watched when he
said, “we waged wars on poverty, not poor people”, how did this happen? Like
its just a topic to us, some might not ever thing about it after this class,
but it still exists. We exert so much
energy learning about bad things, but not what can we do to help fix it. I hope
my rambling makes sense, but there just has to be some sort of solution to make
things better for those who are less fortunate. Our parent’s generation thinks
that we are lazy and that’s so annoying, their parents were role models and
taught them how to change things, but ours didn’t. I literally have no clue
besides volunteering at shelters and donating food. Like we just compare our
lives to theirs and feel bad but we generally don’t know what to do. In reading
others blog posts, everyone is just mad and upset, but there is no solution and
its just confusing to me. We go on with our lives after we give our opinions
and how we feel but that’s all. So what are we supposed to do!
