Money, Politics and Poverty
I have been a little oblivious to how bad poverty is in America until we started watching the Park Avenue film. It sickened me to learn that the government is bought with money by greedy CEO's that have more money than anyone could ever need. How are we supposed to have hope for change in our country if the powers of the government are under the control of donation money? It hurts my heart to see people become poorer and poorer through out our nation and have government officials make it easy on the disgustingly wealthy and continue to cut assistance programs for the under privileged. More people are becoming homeless or struggling to keep their homes and feed their children every single day while leaders of corporations and living in million dollar apartments and demanding that they pay less taxes. The people living on the poverty line have almost no chance of getting out from under it because they do not have decent education or opportunities to make a better life. It is depressing and disappointing to see how the extremely wealthy get to make decisions with the government. It doesn't leave me with much optimism for the future and makes me question where our poverty rate will be in the future.

I completely agree with you! It was hard to watch these millionaires living in these fancy as places while only two blocks down there are individuals struggling to make ends meet. I think that these people need to start investing their money in people and not politics. The more you invest in people the better the outcome is. We need to start getting people back on their feet, and we start helping the poor our economy will start prospering. I am worried about the future as well, but this does all start with having a valuable person in office and as off right now we are screwed sadly.
