Sneaky Sneaky

So I was really interested to hear about Wells Fargo being sued for fraud. Apparently in California the employees have such unrealistic sales goals to meet that they were taking it upon themselves to use random peoples accounts and open credit cards for them without their permission in order to reach their quotas. This was charging people fees that they were unaware of so the fees would go unpaid and then later were sent to collections. This situation kind of reminds me of the financial crisis that happened in 2008 when bank were creating too much money through loans that were unable to be paid back and I'm pretty sure people went to jail over that. I can't imagine that meeting a sales quota at your bank job would be worth jail time, but thats just my opinion I guess. Either way this scandal is very sketchy to me because I have been banking with Wells Fargo for a long time now. I will definitely be checking up on my account regularly to make sure the bankers in Texas are doing the same thing as the people in California. Hopefully they have learned their lesson!!!

  1. I have also been banking with Wells Fargo for a long amount of time and could not believe when I heard about this situation in the news. I always speak so highly of Wells Fargo and honestly couldn't imagine me ever wanting to bank with anyone else. But because of this scandal it makes me want to be more careful with my bank account and what all I allow Wells Fargo to have control over.
